Human Resources Operations Lead – Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll, the successful candidate will lead and develop a high-quality, service-driven transactional HR function, improving processes and establishing best practices. The position will work closely with Ops Support across the organization to ensure that HR activities are running smoothly and efficiently in the following areas: benefits administration, HR administration, new hire onboarding, terminations, etc.

Job Duties

  • Manage data entry of employee information to a high degree of accuracy and security
  • Ensure employee data transactions are completed accurately and controls are in place and followed
  • Employee file administration and maintenance
  • Develop and interpret KPI metrics to measure service quality and performance, ensuring regular reviews and evaluations of effectiveness of the current operating model (focusing on service, productivity and quality).
  • Research, recommend and implement policy and tools that will create a more efficient, professional and robust HR process (online enrollment, web-based new hire paperwork, onboarding, benefits administration)
  • Create and maintain documentation of existing HR policies and processes to strengthen the overall working environment
  • Ensure communication between departments of any policy or program change
  • Manage benefits administration
  • Support and collaborate with payroll and HR Managers to ensure HR transactions are developed and executed in support of the overall HR strategy


  • Graduate of a post-secondary program in Human Resources Management
  • 5-7 years of related work experience is desired;
  • Must have previous experience managing and leading remote teams
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian Benefits
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications & HR systems
  • Knowledge of data privacy issues, HR laws and regulations associated with HR operations
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications & HR systems
  • Passionate about understanding the customer experience
  • Ability to build effective work relationships, influence behavior, and manage change
  • Experience managing and producing data, reports and analyzing information
  • Deal with interpersonal conflict, stressful work conditions and rejection by coping in a mature, problem-solving, solutions-oriented manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • High energy and ability to multi-task with accuracy and timeliness
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
