Badger Management Training Program

Job Description –

Summary:  Badger Daylighting is offering an in depth training program in order to develop future business leaders for the company.  These key individuals will participate in an in depth training program focusing in key areas such as safety, operations, sales, management and financial training over an extended period of time.  This in depth training will prepare the management trainee for a variety of management roles and future progression opportunity within Badger.

The Badger Management Training Program is designed to give a hands on training experience in all facets of the business. You will learn how to operate a truck, sell the business and run a profitable operation.  Ideal candidates must have an entrepreneurial spirit, be action oriented and thrive in a fast paced environment.  During the training program, that will last 4-6 months, you must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time.  When you successfully complete the training program, you must be willing to relocate to assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in related field or applicable work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Prior leadership and/or management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and be action oriented.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Candidate must able to travel up to 100% during training period.
  • Must be willing to relocate once successfully complete the program.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Regional Support Assistant – Vancouver / Port Coquitlam, BC.

Summary

 

Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a Regional Support Assistant to join the largest Hydrovac business in North America at our Vancouver / Port Coquitlam location.

Reporting to the Regional Manager; while taking day to day direction from the Regional Support Coordinator, this position is responsible to provide timely and professional administrative, analyst, sales and other support to multiple Badger Operating Areas in the region.  The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor able to excel in a team environment while promoting a high core value and safety culture. The position will be expected to provide back-fill or succession planning for key positions such as the Regional Support Coordinator, Dispatcher; etc.

The position will interact with both internal and external customers and will be required to work approximately 40 hours a week, during regular business hours from Monday to Friday.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with report and presentation preparation
  • Track and schedule regional training certifications and courses.

Qualifications and Experience

 

                Required:

  • Relevant post-secondary education such as a Business or Office Administration degree or diploma; plus at least 3+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role with an Industrial, Construction, Field Services or Trucking Company.

OR

  • Relevant certification or training and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a similar role with an Industrial, Construction, Field Services or Trucking Company.

PLUS:

  • Advanced demonstrated keyboarding skills
  • Proficient use of various office based software including Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred candidates will have advanced Excel skills such as spreadsheet analysis.
  • Experience with Enterprise Platforms such as SAP, ORACLE, etc.

Summary

 

Based in North GTA/Simcoe County, Ontario, the Business Development Representative is responsible for planning and implementing comprehensive internal and external programs that increase revenue and profits.   • Maintain and develop knowledge of services, act as a resource for internal and external inquiries

Requirements

  • Travel required throughout the Region
  • Working experience in the Hydrovac or industrial service industry preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in sales and business development
  • Pipeline, construction, or rental equipment experience is mandatory
  • Proven track record developing new customers and new markets

Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a Dispatcher to join the largest Hydrovac business in North America at our Grande Prairie location. The Dispatcher is responsible for the scheduling and dispatch of drivers, work crews, hydrovac, vac trucks & water trucks. The Dispatcher’s responsibilities consist of providing accurate directions to work location with the proper amount of time. The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Duties

  • Schedule and dispatch trucks with the goal to book the most timely service possible
  • Provide accurate directions for our services
  • Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, or needs.
  • Ensure hours of service is being followed and adhered to.
  • Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Ensure workers have received the proper training for the work site before being dispatched.
  • Relay work orders and repairs required to units to mechanics.
  • Promote safety on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

 

  • 2-3 years dispatch experience mandatory

Badger Daylighting is looking for an HSE Advisor to support our Fort McMurray location.  Reporting to the Area Manager, the HSE Advisor will enhance and administer the Regional Safety Program, assist employees with clear understanding of responsibilities and specific requirements to comply with Badger’s Safety Program. Assist Area Managers and clients to ensure they understand our safety program. This position is classified as a safety sensitive position and as such adherence to Badger’s strict D&A policy is required. 

Job Duties

Continuously improve the Regional Safety program which includes; client relations, regularly scheduled audits, complete annual unit field inspections, incident investigations, Transport Canada compliance, insurance liability and worker compensation claims.

  • Support area office personnel to implement the safety program.

  • Oversee regional insurance and workers compensation claims.
  • Assist in incident/accident investigations, analysis, root cause, preparation of reports; complete incident summaries and management follow up.

  • Maintain regional logbook compliance records and retention. Audit 10% of driver logs monthly to ensure Transport Canada compliance.

Payroll Administrator – Red Deer, Alberta., AB.

Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the largest Hydrovac business in North America at our Red Deer location. The Badger Hydrovac system is a non-destructive method of excavating  using pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely and cleanly excavate around underground utilities and pipelines in the oil & gas, utility and municipal sectors. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position oversees that all general payroll activities are completed accurately and on time. The individual will work with a team of payroll administrators. 

Job Duties

  • Liaise with internal and external customers
  • Liaise with all government bodies, unions and employee inquires
  • Completing monthly reports with accuracy and timeliness
  • Process regular payroll for all salaried and hourly employees, weekly and bi-weekly pay runs
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, benefits and other appropriate deductions
  • Extract timesheets and review work hours for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure hours are categorized and allocated to correct GL codes
  • Develop and maintain an accurate records management system
  • Create required internal management reports from the payroll system
  • Ensure adherence to all processes and policies
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee profiles, ensuring that they are up to date
  • Ensure all wage changes are made accurately and in time for effected pay periods
  • Stay current with payroll regulations, standards and work methods for all areas and Provinces
  • Reconcile payroll total, ensure deductions and health benefit plan payments are made as scheduled
  • Ensure accurate processing of sick pay, benefits and vacation payouts
  • Process T4’s and reconcile to general ledger at year end
  • Participate in required meetings providing input and recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum PCP designation and 2 years payroll experience
  • Experience with Avanti payroll software a definite asset
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and Employment Standards
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Experience with multi Provincial union and non-union payrolls
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization
  • Strong and demonstrated analytical ability
  • Ability to implement company policies and procedures 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to prioritize daily workload
  • Able to maintain confidential information

Contract Administrator, Red Deer, AB.

Summary

Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a Contract Administrator to join our team in Red Deer. The Contract Administrator manages a wide range of duties including tracking projects for a large number of customers and providing customer service for internal and external clients and working under tight deadlines.  We are looking for a person with a solid background in tracking contracts, customer service, teamwork and communication. 

Job Duties

  • Follow Badger best practices with focus on Best Operator, Best Truck.
  • Ensure compliance to Badgers safety and high service standards. Badger is a safety oriented company and it is important to use this to help develop a competitive advantage and raise the standards of the industry.
  • Receive and verify purchase orders and contracts to ensure they comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Track PO and contract spend for all projects throughout Canada
  • Administer time obligations and notice periods for each contact, drafting change notices as needed
  • Track and follow up on expiry dates with Area Managers and Customers
  • Ensure that all contracts are filed in accordance with Badger standards and protocols
  • Pull data from various databases into Excel and manipulate, organize and interpret as needed
  • Provide above average customer service to internal and external customers
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

Requirements

  • This position requires strong computer skills, good math skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Preference given to those with a Certificate or diploma in Contract Administration
  • 2-5 years of experience in Contract Administration or a similar role
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Very effective organizational skills
  • Pre-employment D&A testing required
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
