The Badger Hydrovac system is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. The Badger Hydrovac uses pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities and pipelines.

 

Most work will be in or around the previously mentioned area with some short term out of town work as a possibility. Training will be provided for people with a desire to succeed, are clean cut, and can pass a drug and alcohol test.

Requirements

  • Willingness to follow Badger’s best practices with focus on ‘Best Operator, Best Truck’.
  • Must possess and exhibit a strong safety acumen.
  • Previous Hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related oil and gas experience preferred.
  • Mechanical inclination an asset.
  • Multiple field tickets an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a strong customer service focus.

Job Description –

Summary:  Badger Daylighting is offering an in depth training program in order to develop future business leaders for the company.  These key individuals will participate in an in depth training program focusing in key areas such as safety, operations, sales, management and financial training over an extended period of time.  This in depth training will prepare the management trainee for a variety of management roles and future progression opportunity within Badger.

The Badger Management Training Program is designed to give a hands on training experience in all facets of the business. You will learn how to operate a truck, sell the business and run a profitable operation.  Ideal candidates must have an entrepreneurial spirit, be action oriented and thrive in a fast paced environment.  During the training program, that will last 4-6 months, you must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time.  When you successfully complete the training program, you must be willing to relocate to assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in related field or applicable work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Prior leadership and/or management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and be action oriented.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Candidate must able to travel up to 100% during training period.
  • Must be willing to relocate once successfully complete the program.

Internal Communications Advisor

Summary

Job Duties

  • Creating a central contact point for internal communications questions and support.
  • Communications activities to support launching and engagement with the Strategic Plan including the creation of materials, holding town halls, creating electronic messaging, and communicating updates from the Executive Team.
  • Developing an Internal Communications Plan that outlines the needs of the audience(s) and identifying the corporate message and tone, including channel identification and criteria for use and means of measurement.
  • Ensuring organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees
  • Developing creative, engaging and sector leading ideas for enhancing the effectiveness of internal communications.
  • Writing speeches and scripts for events, presentations and videos for the senior management team.
  • Planning, editing and writing content for a variety of internal communications media, such as intranet, social media, e-newsletters, email announcements and updates.
  • Supporting parts of the business in the development of campaign or project focused internal communication plans.
  • Working with other parts of the business as an expert advisor on issues related to internal communications.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field of internal communications, in particular ensuring that the Badger remains current with its social media engagement.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of internal communications activities and recommending future improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Communications Studies

Badger Daylighting is looking for a Parts Specialist to be based out of Red Deer, AB.  Reporting to the Purchasing and inventory Manager, the Parts Specialist will be responsible for parts distribution and inventory, continuously evaluating processes and procedures of this department and implementing changes if necessary and assisting in providing support to the Operating partners and Corporate operations. 

 

Duties:

  • Willingness to follow Badger’s best practices with focus on ‘Best Operator, Best Truck’
  • Process part orders received via telephone and email correspondence.
  • Maintain parts inventory, order parts, ship parts and regular inventory counts.  Assist with reconciliation of inventory count.  Entry of inventory adjustments for items expensed to R&M. 
  • Maintain parts and material storage areas to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Operate fork lift.
  • Prepare daily shipments – Packing, scheduling pickups and printing labels.
  • Receive and stock inventory parts.
  • Maintaining necessary files for above items.
  • Maintain ordering of Safety T-shirts, FRC’s, and hard hats for operators

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Red Seal certificate in Parts preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook and possess the ability to learn job related computer programs
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a parts department within a heavy industry setting (transportation, construction, oil and gas) mandatory
  • Ability to recognize basic mechanical part
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have high attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures

Summary

 

Badger Daylighting is currently recruiting for a Junior Electrical Assembly person at our Red Deer Manufacturing plant. The Assembler will work with team members on the assembly and installation of AC and DC control systems, and will be expected to play a key role in on-site activities.

A strong background in Automotive 12V systems is preferred.

Electrical Assembler will be responsible for installing and terminating conduit, wire, cable, equipment, panels, sensors and various control components and devices specific to heavy truck systems. Other responsibilities include fabrication of control panels, installation of wire harnesses and assistance of systems start-up.

  • Work from schematics and job instructions
  • Constructs electrical control panels
  • Pre-assembly and finish wiring of control systems
